Ultimate image quality and enhanced creative control – Canon launches the new LEGRIA HF S series.

Placing control of the image in the hands of the user, the LEGRIA HF S series offers a superb selection of features that deliver exceptional video quality. Each model combines Canon’s superior imaging technology with a range of advanced manual controls, providing all the tools required to shoot
outstanding HD movies.

Quality images meet advanced audio:
LEGRIA HF S series camcorders provide the very best in HD image quality thanks to the Canon HD

Camera System: an 8 Megapixel Full HD CMOS sensor, Canon HD Video Lens (10x optical zoom) and DIGIC DV III image processing. In addition, all models can record sharp, smooth, detailed AVCHD footage at up to 24Mbps – the highest data rate possible.

Steady shots at maximum zoom can be achieved thanks to a new Powered Optical Image Stabilizer :
(OIS). Activated manually, it works in tandem with Canon’s existing Dynamic Optical Image Stabilizer system for additional shake reduction. LEGRIA HF S series models also feature a new six-blade hexagonal diaphragm, providing a more pleasant bokeh effect in video or stills where shallow depth of field is used.

Audio capabilities are a match for the outstanding video performance. Each model features an integrated Auto Microphone Attenuator, ensuring that audio is recorded at the optimum level during shooting, as well as offering the option of manual level control. Microphone and headphone jacks are included to complete the set of advanced audio features.

Touch screen and manual control – shoot the perfect movie :
The new LEGRIA HF S series models are among the first LEGRIA camcorders to launch with new touch technology, featuring a 922,000-dot Touch-screen LCD measuring 8.8cm (3.5”) – the largest screen size currently available.

Larger than any previous LEGRIA display, the screen also offers over four times more detail, four times greater contrast and, unlike many digital camcorders, presents 100% of the recorded image at all times. This combination makes shooting easier in every way, from composition to focusing.

New Touch Focus, Touch Exposure and Touch Tracking features allow users to quickly and simply control their shots. The unique gesture-based interface also provides sliding controls, offering an alternative way to manually adjust settings such as aperture, shutter speed or exposure.

A re-designed manual control dial, 0.69cm (0.27") EVF (LEGRIA HF S21 only) and a remote control terminal – for adjustment of key functions such as focus and zoom – also combine with the new LCD screen to provide more control options than ever before.

Flick through menus with ease :
As well as adding a new layer of control, the Touch-screen LCD also makes footage easy to find and review. Thumbnails of movies can be viewed simply by flicking from one page to the next, while the eye-catching 3D Flip View makes it easier to locate video clips among the largest libraries of content.

Easy for everyone :
The LEGRIA HF S series offers a range of features for users who want the best quality but prefer to simply point and shoot. Smart Auto mode has been introduced to LEGRIA camcorders for the first time, using intelligent Scene Detection Technology to identify up to 31 scene types and adjust shooting
settings accordingly. Video Snapshot mode allows users to be even more imaginative with their footage, shooting in two, four or eight second bursts and creating versatile clips that can easily be combined into a complete movie.

Pre REC mode lets users capture footage even before they choose to start shooting. An internal buffer captures the three seconds of footage prior to the record function being activated, so no action should ever be missed.

Share videos with ease:
LEGRIA HF S series users can convert HD footage to standard definition (SD) MPEG2 files in-camcorder for instant sharing. An Easy Web Upload feature makes it simple to transfer videos to YouTube™, while users can also burn direct to DVD using the Canon DW-100 DVD Burner.

HDMI connectivity allows users to share existing clips with friends or family on any HD TV, or capture video directly using a compatible computer. Users can even connect a personal music player to add the soundtrack of their choice during playback.

Support for Eye-Fi connected functions  means users can also upload their converted SD video clips direct from the camcorder to YouTube™ (or other supported websites) at a wireless hotspot - no computer is required .

Flexible flash storage :
The LEGRIA HF S series uses high capacity flash memory, with 64GB included in the LEGRIA HF S21 and 32GB in the LEGRIA HF S20. Both also feature two SDHC slots, offering up to 64GB of additional storage. The LEGRIA HF S200 records solely to removable SDHC cards: two slots provide up to 64GB of flexible storage that users can add and remove as required.

A new Relay Recording function enables the camcorder to automatically switch between storage sources during recording without the need for user intervention.

Accessories
All LEGRIA HF S series models are compatible with a wide range of Canon LEGRIA accessories, including lens adaptors, batteries and Canon’s new 5.1 channel surround sound microphone, the SM-V1.

RICOH CX3

Thursday, June 24, 2010

               RICOH CX3-Capture your emotion

Breathtakingly pure beauty with each shot.Breakthrough noise reduction function:

The CX3 uses the noise reduction algorithm introduced on the GR DIGITAL III. Performing noise reduction processing on the signal immediately after it is output by the back-illuminated CMOS sensor makes it possible to effectively reduce the noise that tends to occur in images shot at high-sensitivity settings. Fine details, smooth tonality, and vibrant colors are faithfully reproduced in clear, beautiful pictures. As a result, compared to past models, there has been a remarkable increase in image quality performance when shooting low-light scenes.

A wider range of expression, from dark places to bright ones.
Back-illuminated CMOS sensor + Smooth Imaging Engine IV:

By combining the advanced image processing engine Smooth Imaging Engine IV with a back-illuminated CMOS sensor capable of capturing bright images in low light, the CX3 achieves greater picture quality when shooting dark indoor scenes and night scenes. In addition, on a customized circuit of the image processing engine, there is a pixel output interpolation algorithm which reduces whiteout even in high-contrast scenes, thereby reproducing the beauty actually there. With the CX3's advanced shooting functions, you can capture in the photograph the same excitement seen with your eyes.

No overexposure, no underexposure. Just the beauty as you feel it.
Dynamic range double shot:

Overexposure and underexposure are suppressed by shooting, consecutively at high speed, two still images with different exposures, and then recording an image that combines the properly exposed portions of each. This is very effective in scenes that contain large differences in brightness. You can
easily enjoy up to a maximum equivalent to 12 EV of dynamic range expansion by selecting from among the five settings: AUTO and four levels ranging from "Very Weak" to "Strong." On the CX3 it is also now possible to specify detailed settings for dynamic range expansion effects by choosing the tone range to be given priority using the following options: "Highlights," "Shadows," and "Off" (no priority). This makes it possible to faithfully record the beauty you felt the instant the photo was taken.

Natural colors for both subject and background.
Multi-pattern auto white balance:
It can be difficult to define a white balance for scenes mixing different light sources, such as when shooting indoors with flash or when shooting scenes with both sunlight and shadow. Multi-pattern auto white balance sets the white balance to fit the light source of each segregated area, thereby surpassing
the past method (an average setting for the entire image) to reproduce color tones closer to those seen by the eye.

The excitement of movement captured in beautiful high image quality HD movies. 1280×720 pixel HD movies:
CX3 high image quality extends to movies as well as still photographs. It can shoot 1280 × 720 pixel high-resolution HD movies at 30 frames per second. This brings new possibilities for movie enjoyment, such as viewing your CX3 movies on a large-screen TV.

Clear images shot freely from wide-angle to telephoto.
28-300 mm 10.7x optical zoom:
Ricoh’s original retracting lens system made it possible to fit the high-magnification 10.7x optical wide-angle zoom lens in a thin 29.4 mm body that is both easy to carry and easy to use. This lens can handle a wide range of shooting situations, including powerful telephoto shots as well as wide-angle
shooting of both expansive landscapes and interior scenes with limited distance between camera and subject. In addition, the CX3’s ability to shoot high-quality images at high sensitivity levels enables you to use telephoto photography to faithfully capture the joy, surprise, and excitement of a scene without worrying about blur.

Easily select the desired angle of view.Step zoom and auto resize zoom:

The step zoom function enables you to fix the optical zoom magnification at eight steps (28 mm, 35 mm, 50 mm, 85 mm, 105 mm, 135 mm, 200 mm, and 300 mm equivalent). For a zoom range beyond the 10.7x optical zoom (300 mm), the auto resize zoom takes you to a maximum of 61.0x (1,710 mm equivalent)* in four steps (recorded image resized to 5M, 3M, 1M, VGA). Extracting and recording the desired portion of the image shot, auto resize zoom does not degrade image quality like digital zoom, which records the image after magnifying a portion of it up to a designated size.

Close-ups 1 cm from subject.
Macro shooting functions:

Support for shooting creativity.
AE/AF target shift functions:

Choose the best shot after shooting. Four bracketing functions:

Bracketing functions shoot multiple images while changing the shooting settings. Spared from having to make subtle setting adjustments, from multiple images you just select the one best matching your creative intentions.

Auto bracketing:
Automatically shoots three consecutive shots at three exposure levels (-0.5EV, ±0, +0.5EV) based on the set exposure level.

Color bracketing
Automatically records three images (color, black and white, and sepia) giving very different impressions. In addition to the regular color image, you can enjoy the play of light and shadow in a black and white image and the nostalgic feel of a sepia tone image.

White balance bracketing
Automatically records three images: a reddish image, a bluish image, and an image at the currently set white balance. This is convenient when it is difficult to judge the proper white balance.

Focus bracketing
The automatic continuous shooting of five images while changing the focus position by specified intervals. The focus position intervals can be specified as (Wide) or (Narrow).

Person? Landscape? Close-up? The CX3 will decide.
Scene auto mode (S-AUTO):

Pro techniques for you to use. 13 Scene modes:

Corrects for even slight hand-motion blur.
Image sensor shift image stabilizer:
The image sensor shift image stabilizer function reduces the hand-motion blurring that tends to occur in situations such as telephoto and macro shooting. When blurring is detected, the CMOS sensor automatically compensates by shifting in a direction that eliminates the blur.

Quick and accurate camera leveling.
Electronic level:
Using the level sound and the level indicator shown on the picture display, you can confirm that the image is level. This is convenient when shooting landscapes, buildings, and other subjects where tilting can be a problem.

Sharp focus, whether the subject is still or on the move.
Diverse AF (auto focus) functions:
The new "face priority AF" function has been added. With the CX3's auto focus capabilities for quick, precise focusing geared to the subject and your shooting intentions, you won't miss that fleeting shutter chance.

Don't let that scene get away.high-speed continuous shooting functions:
Many discoveries await in a world unseen by the naked eye. To make those discoveries, the CX3 has even better high-speed continuous shooting functions. With speeds from 5 frames/sec. to ultra-high-speed 120 frames/sec., you will catch the moment.

Control photo "feel" with the aspect ratio.
Diverse aspect ratios:
In addition to an aspect ratio 1:1 mode for square-format images like those of medium format cameras, the CX3 adds a 16:9 mode convenient for photo viewing on a wide-screen television. Enjoy the subtly different expressive feel these dimensions create.

Up to 20 image files can be flagged.Image flag function:
The image flag function enables quick display of up to 20 image files from among those in the camera. Flagged images can be promptly displayed by pressing the Fn (function) button so it is very easy and convenient to flag maps and timetable images for later reference and flag favorite photos for showing other people.

Correct brightness and contrast in the camera.
Level compensation:
The brightness and contrast of still images can be automatically or manually corrected in the camera without using a PC. With manual correction, the histogram can be finely adjusted until the image faithfully reflects the photographer's intentions.

Correct the color tone of still images in the camera.
White balance compensation:
Whether you want to reproduce the subject's color tone or change it, you can adjust green, magenta, blue, and amber color tones to match your intentions and preferences.

Reproduce the fine gradations of light and color.Large 3.0-inch 920,000-dot VGA LCD monitor:
The large, high-resolution LCD monitor has a wide viewing angle and high contrast. With sRGB comparison of 100% for color reproduction range, it vividly reproduces image colors. Providing a comfortable shooting environment, the screen has a fluorine coat to prevent soiling, a hard coat to prevent scratches, and an anti-reflection coat to give excellent visibility even outdoors.

Create your own custom specs. My Settings mode:
If you set your most frequently used functions in My Settings mode, you can immediately call up the "custom spec" settings by just turning the mode dial. Making full use of My Settings mode will insure that you do not miss your own decisive moments.

PANASONIC UNVEILS THE ULTIMATE SLIM
AND STYLISH HYBRID LUMIX
DIGITAL CAMERA THAT SHOOTS HD VIDEO

New LUMIX FX75 Records AVCHD Lite HD
Video and Features a 24mm
Wide-Angle, Bright Leica Lens to
Capture High-Quality Still Photos

SECAUCUS, NJ (June 1, 2010) – Panasonic announced today the new
LUMIX DMC-FX75, a super-slim digital camera that packs big features,
including a 24mm ultra-wide-angle F2.2 bright LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON
lens with 5x optical zoom, which  can be used while shooting High
Definition video. The slim and stylish LUMIX FX75, a 14.1-megapixel
digital camera is one of Panasonic’s high-performing hybrid models
with the ability to not only take high-quality still photos, but can also
record HD video in the AVCHD Lite format.

“The Panasonic LUMIX FX75’s 24mm ultra-wide-angle lens is a rare feature
to have on a compact camera – especially one this small, so we are packing
a lot of value and quality into this slim and stylish digital camera,” said
David Briganti, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer
Electronics Company. “Most consumers value the benefits of a long zoom,
but understanding the importance of a wide-angle isn’t as known. With a
24mm ultra-wide angle like the one on the LUMIX FX75, photographers
have a wider range of composition possibilities with approximately 213%
larger viewing space compared to that of a 35mm camera.”

The LUMIX FX75 can record HD video in the AVCHD Lite format, which
allows almost double the recording time in HD quality compared with
the conventional Motion JPEG format.  When recording in AVCHD Lite,
the content is perfect for viewing on an HDTV, like a Panasonic VIERA
Plasma.  To complement the high-quality video, the LUMIX FX75 also
features Dolby Digital Creator to record high quality audio. For those
users who are recording HD video to view on a computer screen, they
also have the option to record in Motion JPEG, as well as WVGA
(848x480) and VGA (640x480).

The LUMIX FX75 adopts full touch-screen operation, which allows for
Auto Focus (AF) to quickly be set to the subject by simply touching the
large 3.0-inch 230,000-dot LCD. Also, the user can click onto a subject
with a single touch, and the FX75 then tracks the subject with the AF
tracking feature – even when moving. The touch-screen operation is fluid
and smooth – whether in record or playback mode.

While recording, once the frame is composed, users can simply touch the
area they want focused before pressing the shutter button. In playback
mode, users can drag the image across the screen with their finger to
browse the collection of photos, as though it is a page in a book.

Panasonic’s iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, a hallmark on all LUMIX digital
cameras, is further advanced in the LUMIX FX75 with the addition of a
new Motion Deblur mode*1  by updating the motion detection
(Intelligent ISO Control) and brightness control (Intelligent Exposure)
to gain the highest shutter speed possible. Combined with the
outstanding brightness of the lens and the POWER O.I.S.
(Optical Image Stabilizer), the LUMIX FX75 reduces blur created from
handshake or the subject moving. The iA suite of technologies include:
POWER O.I.S., Face Recognition, Face Detection, AF Tracking, Intelligent
ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent Exposure – all
which are engaged when in the iA mode.Panasonic’s iA is also available
while shooting video and include: AF Tracking, POWER O.I.S., Face
Detection and Intelligent Scene Selector.
The Panasonic LUMIX FX75 features the Venus Engine HD II image
processor, which helps assure superb image quality in both photo and
video recording. It also incorporates Intelligent Resolution technology
to perform the optimum signal processing based on the part of a picture
to give a whole image outstanding, natural clearness with fine details.
At the same time, the multi-task image-processing engine Venus Engine
HD II supports a super-fast response time. The shutter release lag time
is as short as approximately 0.005 of a second in 1-area AF, and the
camera's quick response makes it easier to capture sudden, spur-of-the-
moment photo opportunities together with the Sonic Speed AF.

With the Intelligent Resolution technology, three areas – outlines,
detailed texture areas and soft gradation – are examined pixel by pixel
and automatically detected to enhance any degradation created during
the digital zoom process or in high-sensitivity shooting. The outline
areas are enhanced effectively to give the edges more clarity, while
simultaneously giving a moderate accent to the textured areas so they
look accurately detailed. To soften gradation areas, such as a face,
the increased noise reduction system of the Venus Engine HD II is
applied to make it appear smoother.  As a result of Intelligent Resolution,
images are naturally clear and crisp in both photo and video recording.
The Intelligent Resolution technology powers Panasonic’s new Intelligent
Zoom feature, which extends the camera’s zoom ratio by approximately
1.3x while maintaining picture quality – and enhancing the digital zoom
and making it comparable to the quality of an optical zoom. With
Intelligent Zoom, the Panasonic FX75 can reach up to 6.5x.

Other features include:
Cosmetic Mode – takes portraits with the user’s favorite skin tone
(soft skin, natural skin, summer look) and can add a degree of transparency
of skin detail (low, standard, high), making it possible to take portraits with
different skin tones, for example, look more sun-tanned.

Happy Mode – option in iA that optimizes color, saturation and brightness to
make both photos and movies more vivid and true to the color of the scene
you memorized.

Battery Life – the high performance Venus Engine HD II is also more energy
efficient compared with the conventional Venus Engine HD, extending the
battery life up to 360 shots (CIPA) on a single charge.
Available colour:Black

AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II
An FX-format compatible super telephoto zoom lens with Nano
Crystal Coat

and VR II vibration reduction system

Nikon corporation announces the release of the AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED
VR II, an FX-format compatible telephoto zoom lens offering Nikon's exclusive
support for focal lengths from 200 mm to the super telephoto 400 mm.
The AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II is a successor to the AF-S VR Zoom-
Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED, offering improvements in performance and function.

In addition to the adoption of Nano Crystal Coat and the VR II vibration reduction
system, which offers camera shake compensation equivalent to a shutter speed
increase of approximately 4 stops, the lens is equipped with A/M (autofocus with
manual override, AF priority) mode. A wide variety of angles of view are supported
by the 200 mm telephoto to 400 mm super telephoto range of focal lengths.

This lens is perfect for capturing subjects that require zoom capability, including
sports, press and bird photography.

AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II Primary Features

·  A super telephoto zoom lens supporting Nikon's exclusive range of focal
lengths from 200 to 400 mm Coverage for a wide range of focal
  lengths enables
capture of a wide  varieties of angles of view with a

  single lens.

·   Nano Crystal Coat significantly reduces ghost and flare

The AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II now incorporates
Nikon’s exclusiveanti-reflection
Nano Crystal coat, which drastically

reduces ghosting and flare, along with four ED glass elements
t

minimise internal reflections and aberrations. This delivers rich, high

contrast images even under testing lighting conditions.

The new lens features an autofocus with a built-in silent wave motor to
ensure fast and quiet focusing. The AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED
VR II has a toughmagnesium body, incorporating weather and dust sealing
and lens protective glass, to withstand the effects of dust and moisture
in the toughest of shooting conditions.

Weighing in at only 3,360g, while providing great flexibility in
telephoto shooting, this new lens is a practical alternative to carrying
several large telephoto lenses. The lens is supplied with a high quality
Ballistic, backpack style carry case, allowing for easy and safe transportation.

Built-in vibration reduction (VR II) offering camera shake
compensation equivalentto a shutter speed increase of approximately
four stops

Sharper images with improved handling

The AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II features second generation
built in Vibration Reduction (VRII), providing the ability to shoot at
shutter speeds up to four stops slower so sharper images can be achieved.

In addition, the new A/M mode added to existing M/A and M modes enables
autofocus priority even if the focus ring is being handled during shooting.

ED lens elements (4) adopted for superior chromatic
aberration compensation

A/M (autofocus with manual override, AF priority) mode added
The addition of A/M (autofocus with manual override, AF priority)
mode prevents accidental switching from autofocus to manual focus.Along
with M/A (autofocus with manual override, MF priority) mode, which enables manual focusing by rotatingthe focus ring while autofocus is operating, and
M (manual focus) mode, this makes for a total of three focus modes.
